PlayStation Phone sighted

"Sony and Sony Ericsson have apparently merged the PSP with mobile phone tech to produce what many gamers must have been dreaming about for years – a PlayStation Phone!

Endgadget.com has what it claims are first images of the device. Iffy quality suggests that they’re leaked rather than Sony’s official pics. The phone itself looks like a working prototype too, instead of the finished article. Anyway, here are a few specifications.
PlayStation Phone
First up, the slide out panel boasts the usual PlayStation controls plus a touch-pad that replicates the PSP’s analogue stick.
The phone is based on the Android 3.0 platform with screen size coming in between 3.7 and 4.1 inches. The dapper handheld also hides a 1GHz Qualcomm CPU with 512MB of RAM and 1GB of ROM under the hood. Sounds good so far...
On the downside the PlayStation phone isn't supposed to be compatible with Memory Sticks or any PSP game/movie discs. Instead, users will have access to custom Sony Marketplace where they’ll be able to purchase/download such things. So it looks like this is a PSPgo with mobile phone clothes on. That’s no bad thing, eh?

PlayStation Phone 2 One thing it is definitely not is the PSP2. That’s the next-generation of Sony gaming handhelds and will feature a more powerful processor and a high definition screen, among other benefits. The rumour mill suggests a late 2011 launch for that. Meanwhile, this baby seems to have taken everyone by surprise.

*UPDATE*
Sony has just pronounced the whole thing as "definitely fake". That's no great surprise - they said the same thing about leaked pics of the PS3 Slim casing, and look what happened there. Let's just keep a large pinch of salt handy and watch to see whether this magically comes true. After all, a PlayStation phone makes a lot of sense and Sony really should have made one years ago.

What do you think - is this a cruel hoax or a first sighting of the real deal?"
